    The Deer Candy tree! Deer seek out persimmons and will come to these trees for miles around. Every hunter knows that deer love persimmons!

    Deer Candy Persimmons are grafted female American Persimmons and will bear fruit in only 2-3 years. Medium sized persimmon, 1.25-1.5" long. Fruit has nutty flavor and ripens early. Very productive, drops fruit between late August through October depending on variety and climate. Cold hardy, Zones 5-9.

    * Must plant with Deer Magnet, or another Deer Candy collection persimmon and or 3 or more native American seedling persimmons for best pollination and production.

    Pollination: Plant with grafted Deer Magnet, Deer Candy collection persimmon and or multiple American seedling persimmons for best pollination and production.

    Soil type: Adapted to upland, wet if only seasonal and well drained or sandy clay or loam; Ph 6.0-7.0

    Fertilization: New trees planted in the winter won’t need fertilizer(balanced time released 10-10-10 fertilizer or Espoma Citrus Tone Organic) until April or May.

    Pruning: Light annul pruning as needed. Pruning should be designed to train the tree outward by removing strong branches growing into the center and removing water sprouts. See Pruning section under "How to plant and grow"
